Baby it's cold outside!

Man, the snow has been falling ALL day long and we have had about 5 in. so far and it supposed to snow till sometime in the early morn. Rob and I went out and shoveled about 4 in. off the driveway earlier and it was quite a workout! I have the tree up and Kyan has done an amazing job decorating this yr. While I would like to take control and make it "perfect" I am letting go and leaving it just how my sweet baby boy did it:) My hubby refuses to hang lights up on the house, sooooo I will have to try and get some up somehow this weekend. I MUST have outdoor Christmas lights, makes me happy!! I have some gifts bought but need to get on the ball and finish up buying gifts. Only 5 more days and Keely will turn, (coughing, choking, crying) 18....good Lord where did the time go. So I have to get out and do some birthday shopping this weekend, just have to find that something special. She can be very hard to shop for. We got out and drove around looking at Christmas lights, there are several areas of town that go all out maybe I can get some pics next trip and share them. If you are reading this post I would like to ask for a favor. My good friend Jennifer's niece Tori was in a car accident almost 2 wks ago and she is in a coma, she is 17 and has a great family and they could all use some extra prayers. I would appreciate it:)
Much love....

Happy Thanksgiving!

Finally.....Finally I am making time to write a new post. I cannot believe how much time has gone by since my last post and I CANNOT believe how fast this year has gone. The kids have grown so much that sometimes it is shocking. We have been so busy with Rob working out of town 1-2 wks a month, while he hates being away from home he likes the challenge of running 2 sites and helping out in Louisville with their site. It makes so much extra work for me but I think I have gotten into a good routine when he is gone and the boys have stepped up so much with helping. North Dakota makes it easy for kids to grow up faster, they allow them to work at 14 and even get a permit and drivers license. We think 14 is too young to drive so Caleb is working towards getting one sometime in the future but he did decide he wanted to get a job. He applied at a locally owned gro store called Dan's and he works about 20 hrs a week. He does everything from bagging gro, rounding up carts, cleaning and even cashiering. He works hard and we are very proud of him. He is in the 9th grade, Nd keeps 9th grade in middle school so he will be moving up to high school next yr. Keely will be graduating in May and we cannot believe it. We ordered her cap and gown last wk which made it more real. She will go on in the fall to the Adult Education Center which is still part of the school system just for adults 18-21 yrs old. will interesting to see what she learns from there, she has learned alot from this school. She has such great teachers, and very special aides, esp one named Dianne, she has a very special connection with Keely. She does Keely's hair each day in lots of pretty styles, she accompanies Keely to work and to some of her classes and she has even mastered Keely speak. Which isn't easy to do, you can tell how much Keely loves her. Christopher is in 7th gr and likes being in middle school, he wasn't happy last yr when he found out 6th gr was still in elementary. He has done well and is in choir as well. He has a show coming up Dec. 20th and we are excited to see him perform. He has gotten so tall it is crazy. He has made a lot of friends and made honor roll this past 9 wks. Kyan started kindergarten this yr and he LOVES it. He cried when he was sick, throwing up and fever, and we told him he couldn't go to school. He has alot of friends and has the nicest teacher. She has already taught him so much. He has been in school just 11 wks and is already reading! She also told me in his parent conference that he is the most polite, helpful, respectful child she has ever met. She even said other teachers comment on him being so polite. That made me so proud:) He is such a funny, sweet child. He also has such a good imagination and likes older women, not to mention any names Jennifer and Stephanie, lol. Kelcie, sweet Kelcie, man has she grown. Poor baby girl is still lacking in the hair dept, and only has 8 teeth, and still doesn't talk much but man has she grown. She is a handful, keeps us all on our toes. She has a temper like Keely and mocks alot of what Keely does. She is a daredevil like Caleb, climbs on everything and is strong. She is funny like Christopher, makes faces, rolls her tongue, and loves to laugh and is always smiling. She is loving like Kyan loves to give hugs and seems to have a good imagination when playing. And she is like her dad a white girl;) She is actually starting to be a daddy's girl and gets so excited when he comes home from work. It is really sweet. We are still loving living in Bismarck, the weather is absolutely a perk, even the snow, a girl can get used to this no humidity thing!!

Today is Thanksgiving as you can tell by the title of the post, I hope you all have had a wonderful day. I am so THANKFUL for my wonderful husband who doubles as a great daddy, my beautiful, brilliant children, my amazing family who is always supportive, my best friend Jennifer whose friendship I cherish and all of the things we are blessed enough to experience in this life. We get busy in our lives and sometimes forget to take a moment and focus on the important things or to pick up the phone and make a call or write an email but I hope you all remember how important you are to me. Things can change in the blink of an eye so we should always remember to show the ones we love how thankful we are for them not just on this day.

Just us girls

Well as of 7 a.m. this morning it is just me and the girls. The boys are in Boise with my family and Robert is in Ky for work. I have to say it is so quiet around here and I miss all 4 of my boys but it is nice to have some time with the girls. They girls miss the boys too, they love the attention and love from their brothers and daddy. As long as the weather stays storm and tornado free I will be good:). I will be happy when Friday gets here and Robert will get home, he has been gone so much the last 2 mos. He is doing really well with this company and I know they respect the work he is doing and thats why they are depending on him to get things turned around in Ky, but I miss him and will be glad when things are wrapped up. Maybe this week I have with the girls will allow me some time to get pics up on here and some more posts. Happy week all:)

Pitiful blogger

What a terrible blogger I am! I have 5 amazing kids that grow and change everyday. I started this blog as a way to capture those moments for Rob and I, each one of the kids and family and friends to share enjoy and have forever, yet I have really gotten behind and probably missed some little things I would have rather not forgotten. If only to myself I have to make a commitment to mark all of the once in a lifetime moments of my quickly growing babies. While I am always amazed at how fast they grow older and mature and develop these quirky, sometimes annoying, and distinctively unique personalities, it makes me incredibly sad that they are doing it too fast. I think being older and more aware of how fast time does go by watching Kelcie develop and change and learn new things everyday makes me wish I could have had that knowledge when all the kids were smaller to capture the tiny things that they did:( So while this is my first post in months I will work on my next post and some new slideshows and get them up asap. I have missed my blog!!!!!

Happy Birthday Kelcie!

Well 1 yr ago today Kelcie was born. She started out a little high maintenance the first 3 months, but has fallen right into a pretty typical baby. She has such a sweet infectious smile that can light up a room and she has the cutest little "evil" laugh you have ever heard on a little girl:) She has wrapped all of her brothers around her tiny little finger and they absolutely adore her. She is just trying to walk so it shouldn't be long before she is running around the house. She is a little behind on some things but is hitting most of her milestones. I can say I am a little sad she is my last baby ever:(, but we have a houseful and that keeps me busy enough. She had a very memorable 1st birthday party, her Mawmaw made her the cutest bithday cakes and she played it in it more than ate but we did get some cute video and pictures that I will post later. She got some cute presents and clothes and pink and white tennis shoes(her first pr of shoes), and the most adorable tutu ever! Her mom is so crafty:) I will post some pics very soon and hope you all have a goodnight!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET BABY GIRL, I llove you!

New year already....

It is crazy that it is already 2010, muchless halfway through January! So much has changed this past year but it seems like the time flew by. It is so strange looking back at all the posts and pictures and seeing how much the kids have changed and grown, how our family has grown and how our lives have changed.

So let's do a fast recap....In the past year we have had a baby, our sweet baby girl Kelcie, had some medical issues with her, spent weeks in hopitals in Starkville and Memphis, Rob lost his job, we packed up, spent a couple weeks in Tx, met Bella, moved to Boise, Id., Rob got a job, spent 7 wks apart and then finally moved to our new home in Bismarck,Nd., made it through the holidays and I read all 4 Twilight books!!(thanks Susie and Jennifer) Whew, I am tired:)

Keely is doing good in school. She is in her Junior yr, ugh, and is in some regular classes with the general population kids. She will be getting a "job" this 2nd semester in school. It could be watering plants, cleaning, or taking water to senior citizens. Anything she is capable of safely performing. She will be taught to punch a time card and she will get a $1 paycheck that she will cash and spend. It is a little scary for us to let go of the reigns and let her into the real world but in the end it is about letting her have all the experiences of as normal a life possible. Oh is it scary though! she isn't sure about all the snow here but is loving getting to wear all of her gloves and scarves!

Caleb is in the 8th grade and thinks he is 21. Typical teenager who wants all the freedom of an adult. He had a good football season in Boise and made some good friends he misses alot. He also drives his dad nuts by never wearing a jacket to school. He is taking some classes here that he has enjoyed. Tech class/shop class, has been one of his favorites. He made some cool golf tees and press molds in polymer class and then built a beautiful step stool. He is very talented and smart. He also has a girlfriend now and again, and loves playing video games and music. It's just the beginnng....

Christopher is in the 6th grade. He is just starting the preteen stuff, attitude, but is still his silly self. He is a huge movie freak and watches movies all the time. He is working on the talent show for school right now, not sure if he wants to participate, so he is working on the program and advertising commitee. He has been taking some art classes iin school and has done some neat work. He is between still being a kid and being to big for fun stuff. He loves Kelcie and can get very silly with her which she loves. He loves the snow and him and Kyan play out in it all the time. It will be sad when he "grows" up!

Kyan is almost 5! My baby boy is going to start school next yr:( He is so excited but I will miss him when he does. He asks a thousand questions a day. He has the best imagination ever! He will carry on a conversation will someone back and forth about all kinds of things, and when you ask him who he is talking to he will tell their name and introduce you to them. When you ask him about them later he will shake his head and say "Mom, it was just make believe" like i am the silliest person. He asks ?'s like "How old were you when you met me for the first time?" and says things like "Whew, I need to go to bed I am "poofed" out", he is a mess! He still will not eat veggies or most meats. Poor thing loves his waffles and mac and cheese! He is loving the snow, likes to make snow angels, throw it at his brothers, and going sledding but most of all eating it! He had a great Christmas this year, he was at the perfect age, so excited for the decorations, lights and presents of course! It was what the season is all about:)

And,

Kelcie, she is 11 months yesterday. So sad that my last baby is almost a year old. After all she went through in the start I am not complaining just wish she wouldn't grow up. She is doing much better. While she is a little bit behind in some areas all in all she is very healthy and happy. She completes our family and balances out the all the boys chaos, maybe, lol. The kids all love her and she adores them. She has the best smile and cutest laugh. She is nosy and hates to be in a room by herself, but she isn't spoiled;), and she does not sleep through the night yet! She liked all the loving she got in Boise this summer, she had aunts and uncles and neices and grandparents to love on her. She started gaining weight and progressing, and eating lots of foods. She hasn't started walking yet but she pulls up and walks along things so I am guessing it won't be too long before she does. She is a sweet baby girl and is getting spoiled by all her siblings.

We are living in Bismarck, Nd. Robert has a ood job with a good company and hopefully we will be settles for a while. While it is nice seeing new places and living in new areas, it gets harder as the kids get older. Moving schools and losing friends is harder on them. We have a house with a bedroom for all the kids, they have wanted that for years, yet they all congregate to the living room, kids! Rob says he loves it here and that it feels like home. He hopes we will be here at least 7 more yrs. He works with great people and they all work well together. He is even learning to love the cold. I am very proud of him:)

While it is always nice to be closer to family, we aren't that far from them. We can easily drive in a day to enjoy a long weekend visit. It is a little further drive to see Rob's family but not that bad. Kelcie will have to go visit Bella and their mommies will have to go have Sushi and shop! They will be bff's:) My mom is coming for Kelcie's first birthday and she is so excited. She has missed all of the kids firsts except Keely's. Of course getting to see Keely is a perk;)

With all of the exciting things that are bound to come this year I hope this year doesn't go by as quickly as last yr. I also hope you all have a great year with many blessings. I also promise to keep things updated more than I have in the recent past. I will also be getting some pictures posted very soon.
